Lost pets can be reunited with their family thanks to microchips. Simple, safe, and effective.
Your pet may wear a collar and tags that include their name and your phone number which is great, but only a microchip provides permanent ID that cannot be lost.
When an animal is found and taken to a shelter or veterinary clinic, one of the first things that happens is that the animal is scanned for a microchip, and we are no different. If a microchip is found and the registry info is correct, they can quickly find the animal’s owner. This means that your pet can get home to you safe and sound as soon as possible.
A microchip is a small, electronic chip that is activated when a scanner is passed over the area. What happens is that the radio waves put out by the scanner activate the chip. The chip transmits the ID number to the scanner, which displays the number on the screen. We also have a microchip available that not only stores the ID number but allows us to read the pet’s body temperature, this is called a TChip. Implanting the microchip is a quick process, the microchip is inserted with a needle much like a visit for your pet’s annual vaccines.
